Dave Smith

Dave Smith has been behind the mic for a quarter century and covers the Big 10 Conference for GameDaySportsRadio.com. In addition to being a regular guest on GameDaySportsRadio.com’s midday show, Dave’s “Big 10 Report” podcast can be found on the website beginning in September 2017. Originally from Flint, Michigan, Dave attended Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL and played on the defensive line for the Tigers.

During his college days, Dave began his broadcast career by working as the public address announcer for ONU’s basketball team and covering shifts on the campus radio station. After graduating with a communications / broadcasting degree, Dave began working for the Milner Broadcasting Family at WVLI 92.7 FM in Kankakee. After leaving Milner to pursue another radio opportunity, he came back home to Milner in 2013 and can be heard nightly during the work week, 7:00PM to midnight, on WFAV 95.1 FM. You can also find him on the web at WFAV951.com

Aside from his on-air persona, Dave is much sought after for his PA work. The 2017-18 seasons will be his 25th year for ONU basketball and also mark his 23rd season as the Tigers’ football PA voice. For the past 15 NBA seasons, Smith has been the back-up PA announcer for the Chicago Bulls. His ambition is to one day be the fulltime “Voice of the Chicago Bulls.”

In addition to his broadcast career, Smith has worked for the last 17 years in sales and promotions for Kozol Brothers, a MillerCoors Beer Distributor in Joliet, IL. Dave makes his home in the Bourbonnais community and is involved in many local charitable events.
